Introducing Daisy Baby Photography!
We're so excited to have Deanna of Daisy Baby Photography on the blog today! Check out her awesome photography and her just as awesome response to our 10 thought-provoking questions!
1) If we asked you to photograph one part of yourself, what would it be and why?
If I could only photograph one part of me, I'd want I'd want to photograph my mommy self. I want to be photographed with my children. Even just laying snuggled on the couch; I'd capture me kissing the heads of my babies a million times.

2) If you could photograph any person, dead or alive, who would you choose?
If I could photograph any person, I'd want to photograph my grandfather and grandmother back when they were young. I recently lost my grandfather and he meant the world to me. He was one of the greatest, kindest, loving men I knew.

3) What do you think about the future of the photography industry?
I love that photographers are stepping outside the box more and trying new things! I love seeing photographers' visions.

4) If you could give just one piece of advice to an aspiring photographer, what would it be?
My advice for aspiring photographers is not to get discouraged! I remember looking at others peoples work and being so envious that I couldn't accomplish that. And here I am now with my own visions and style.

5) Do you think photography can be a learned skill or is there more to it than that? Do you feel an innate talent must be present for success as a photographer?
I think photography is a hands-on skill. You can read all the books you want but until you get out there and use your mind, your eyes and your feelings, you're not really learning. I went to school for photography and I do feel I learned a lot, but it wasn't until this last year I blossomed as a photographer. I still read every blog and every how-to, but learning is doing in my book

6) What do you consider a successful portrait?
A successful portrait is one where you look at it and think, "I GOT IT!"

7) How did you discover your style and who you are as a photographer? Are you still making discoveries about yourself and your work?
To this day I am still finding myself as a photographer. I live for lifestyle images. I spent the winter months learning studio photography and while I do love those set ups, I think capturing life as it is happening is so much more meaningful.

8) How do you stay focused and overcome the doubts and challenges experienced by most everyone in this industry?
I photograph EVERY SINGLE DAY! I mean it. I always have one of my cameras on me, even if it is just a trip to Costco. You better believe I will be documenting it. I am learning each and every time I pick my camera up. I believe when people hire me as their photographer, it is because they believe in me as well and that feels so good.

9) How do you approach learning the business aspects of photography?
I am horrible at the business side of photography. If it were up to me, I would photograph for free and just skip all the financial parts of it, but alas, I own two cameras, a home studio, several lenses, and pay insurance and taxes on my equipment so I have to charge. Thankfully I have a best friend who is well versed in marketing and a level headed hubby.

10) If you had the opportunity to ask any photographer a question, what and who would you ask?
I would love to talk to Jen Gardiner at Eyelet Photography, I feel her and I have very similar style and could have some fun on photo shoots. I would love to talk free-lensing with her for hours. I also love every single image Rachel Vanoven posts. I'd ask her how she can be so awesome and down to earth all at the same time!
